A manufacturer-grade bilingual website, built with AI assistance instead of a template
The Hungarian distributor of a Dutch manufacturer got a new bilingual product catalogue site for premium office glass walls. Custom code instead of a WordPress template, with domain and hosting in the client's name from day one.

The client and the starting point
The company distributes and installs premium office glass walls and partition systems in Hungary as the official partner of a Dutch manufacturer with more than 20 years of history. A new company name and identity called for an entirely new website: one that presents the manufacturer’s range faithfully and to its standards, works in Hungarian and English, generates quote requests, and is a partner site the manufacturer can stand behind.
The challenge
This was not a simple brochure site but a complex product catalogue that a foreign manufacturer also reviews.
- A lot of content. Five product categories, each with several sub-products, technical data and downloadable data sheets. The first estimate counted more than 30 pages.
- Manufacturer compliance. The manufacturer’s official system names, exact technical values and image usage rules had to be respected.
- Two languages. With professionally accurate terminology in both.
- Moving inputs. The company’s identity was finalised during the project: new name, new registered office, new logo.
The approach: AI-assisted custom development instead of a template
The original plan was a purchased WordPress template. When development started we chose a different direction: the site was built as custom code, with the help of an AI development tool.
- Fast first version. The first working preview started from the previous site’s content, and the client could already comment on copy, colours and structure. Not on an imaginary wireframe, but on a real, clickable site.
- Cheap iteration. Incorporating feedback took hours, not days. The colour scheme, the home page structure and the logo all changed over several rounds at no extra cost.
- Savings. The template price dropped out, and no paid plugins are needed.
The AI did not replace thinking here, it replaced typing. Structure, content hierarchy, technical decisions and client communication stayed with the developer. The tool sped up what is otherwise the most time-consuming part of the work.
What was delivered
| Feature | What it does | Why it matters to the client |
|---|---|---|
| Home page | Hero images, products, certifications, FAQ, references, contact | The first screen tells who the company is and what it offers |
| Product categories | 5 categories with official manufacturer system names | This is how architects and general contractors search |
| Technical data | Acoustic values, wall thicknesses, downloadable data sheets | The architect finds what they need immediately |
| Reference gallery | 20 projects, 155 photos, filterable, with photographer credit | Trust building, extendable later |
| Contact form | 5 topic options, multiple recipients, automatic confirmation | Every enquiry arrives |
| Spam protection | Hidden trap field and fill-time filtering, no captcha | No burden on the visitor |
| English version | Full translation, language switcher in the header | The manufacturer and international clients can use it |
The site runs as static HTML on a conventional Hungarian host with no database and no admin panel, with an auto-renewing certificate, cache rules and security headers. This is the most reliable and cheapest setup to maintain for a corporate site.
Manufacturer compliance
The manufacturer reviewed the preview and made three remarks. All three were incorporated within a day, with an English summary of the changes: the reference gallery was rebuilt according to the manufacturer’s photo filter (10 projects out, 10 new ones in), every sub-product received its official system name, and acoustic values were corrected per system. For a distributor’s website, credibility in the manufacturer’s eyes matters too.
Ownership from day one
The domain and hosting are in the client company’s name from day one; the developer is only the technical contact. This is deliberate: one of the most common later problems for SMEs is that the domain or hosting stays in the developer’s name. Source code and operating documentation are handed over; there is no paid template, plugin or platform the site depends on. The website belongs to the client, not the developer.
Results
- Speed. The static site loads without database queries.
- Security. No admin panel, no plugins, no database, so most attacks that hit WordPress sites do not apply.
- Low running cost. A single annual hosting fee that includes the domain. No monthly update burden.
- Manufacturer acceptance. Reviewed by the manufacturer and brought to an approvable state based on its remarks.
Lessons
Development is no longer the bottleneck: most of the time went into decisions, data and approvals. A clickable preview instead of template selection; collecting every company detail up front; clarifying manufacturer rules among the first questions; ownership from day one; and the launch order matters: domain, then certificate, and only then the strict security settings.
The client’s and the manufacturer’s names are withheld at the client’s request.
